The Montoyas Visit

We had a great week (June 29-July7) with Tommy's mom and little siblings, Sam (age 10) and Sariah (age 7). I really enjoy when we get to see them.

Monday we played and walked at Ft Liberty playground. That night we took them out to Pappadeaux...so yum. And then my mother-in-law was nice enough to take me to my first Urgent Care visit. Wasn't a big deal...I had an infection on my hand and needed to get antibiotics. It went away quickly and now I know how the Urgent Care works. 

Tuesday we went swimming at the Rampton's pool. Parker was nice enough to come swimming with us for the afternoon so we could be there. He and Sam had fun together. Bradley got a lot more confident in the pool with grandma around. By the end he was swimming back and forth between us and letting us throw him in the water back and forth. :)

Wednesday we went to the children's museum. Then Becky and Joslin had an adventure together while I took the kids home. That night Tommy and I got to go meet baby Alexis (Hailee and Adam's new baby) and she was just so sweet and little! 

Thursday and Friday was when Tommy and I went on our anniversary get-away. Bradley had lots of fun and I don't even think he noticed we were really gone. Becky said he asked where we were once and she told him that we went on a drive in the car and he never asked again. haha. They took him to visit Joslin at work that night and went to the 4th of July parade Friday morning. 

Friday we had an early BBQ at home and then went downtown for the Reds game. The weather was PERFECT and I was so glad we had a reason to be outside all night. When we originally bought the tickets a few months ago, I was thinking I might be miserable in the heat and being 8 months pregnant...but it was so wonderful and nice and I'm so glad we went. We got Graeters at Fountain Square before walking over to the game. 

Bradley did so well! We weren't sure how he would do, as that was the latest he has ever stayed up in his whole life. The game started at 7, which is his bedtime. As the night went on, he never got grumpy, whiney, or ornery...he just alternated between being very calm and cuddly to silly and delirious. He was quite entertaining, especially once he realized he could make us all laugh by his funny faces. We took a blanket and he spent quite a bit of time just laying on the ground relaxing, but never actually fell asleep. I love the Reds stadium because it overlooks the river and is gorgeous. We were in my favorite section right by the river and B loved watching all the boats and barges throughout the evening.

The game ended around 10 (we won!) and then we had the amazing fireworks show. They do the fireworks off the river right by the stadium and it is incredible how close and huge they are. It is an amazing show. By that point B was so tired and when they started, he got a little scared and told me over and over "no no! all done! all done with fireworks! all done fireworks!". Tommy took him and plugged his ears and then he was totally fine. He enjoyed watching them, once he didn't have to hear them quite so loudly. He looked a little bit like he was in a trance. It was a really enjoyable evening. It was fun to just sit and watch the game, eat, and visit. And randomly the Smith's and their visiting family were in the section right next to us, so we got to see them too. Bradley was asleep before we even pulled out of the parking garage. :)

Saturday was a low-key day. We just went to play in the creek at Keehner park and went to play mini-golf. 

Sunday we had an early birthday party for Joslin and played games. Then they left Monday morning. 

Bradley seriously had a great time with them, especially Sam and Ria. They were so cute with him and he just wanted to do everything with them. Sam even took him potty and got him dressed and took care of him most of the week. They had a really cute relationship. B has asked about them a lot this week. They are a really good aunt and uncle. :) So glad they could come!!!
