I really like their new house and area. It's definitely not home, but it feels comfortable and feels like their house. We had a great time while we were there.
Friday night the Jarvis family arrived. They are moving to Italy at the end of the summer, so this was our last time seeing them before that happens. They were only there Saturday and half of Sunday, but it was still fun to see them. Bradley had a blast playing with his older cousins. He called them "Jane and the guys" and he still asks about them. He also loved their dog Lincoln. I have never seen him love a dog that much. And Lincoln was super good with him and let him hug all over him.
Bradley really struggled with sleep that first weekend. He started out tired because he didn't nap much in the car. And it starts getting light outside around 4:45 in Delaware, which means B got up around 5:15 everyday. There is nothing I can do...he just wakes up with the sun...even with dark shades and blankets over the windows. So that first weekend was rough, which was annoying since that was when we were trying to have good time with the Jarvises. He was ridiculously emotional about everything. And one night he got into a tube of travel toothpaste and ate it. We were pretty sure he was fine but still called poison control like it says to do and he was fine. But calling poison control was a parenting first for us! Anyways, Bradley was definitely not his best that weekend, but we survived.
We went to a fun park Saturday morning. Almost the whole group played tag on the rope toy. Then we went mini golfing that afternoon. B made that really difficult because he was so tired and wanted his way with everything...but again, we survived and had fun too. The rest of the time the Jarvises were there we just hung out.
Sunday B was good during sacrament meeting but wanted nothing to do with nursery. We decided to just take him back home to nap while everyone else stayed at church. He slept for 3.5 hrs and we woke him up so he would have a little more time to play with cousins. That nap helped him get back on track a little. The Jarvises left that afternoon and we played games that night with my parents.
Monday morning Tommy had to fly to Nashville for work. I had to take him to the airport leaving at 3:45 am (ugh). I spent the rest of the week with my parents.
We had a lot of fun exploring their new area (super fun park, zoo, shopping areas, 2 different ice cream places), sewing, brainstorming decorating ideas, watching episodes of Avonlea, bike rides, walks, and just relaxing and talking. It was a really nice week. Bradley had a lot of fun there and especially loved the bike rides and their great park that's close to their house.
B went and stood exactly like grandma. :)
This was such a cute ice cream place. It was on a farm and they had a playground and a few animals that kids could look at.
This ice cream stand is right by my parent's house.
I kept having to help B lick his ice cream cone so it wouldn't drip and he got so mad every time. It made us laugh a lot.

B really started playing with older kids on this trip, starting with the Jarvises. Then one afternoon my mom's neighbor's son (about 8 or 9 years old) was outside playing with a friend. Bradley got so excited and ran over there with a ball. They all played together for 20-30 mins. The boys were super cute with B and he had so much fun playing with them. Then at the park one day, B was playing and randomly started following a girl who was about 8 years old. He told her to sit by him and then he grabbed her hand and was telling her "come on" over and over. He drug her over to the swings and asked her to push him. It cracked me up. The girl and her mom were smiling and chuckling about it the whole time. The girl just kept saying he was so cute and she was really sweet with him. Ever since then, he always tries to play with older kids when he is around them.Bradley and I drove home by ourselves on Saturday. Everything went well with that (but I was so happy to just get home and have it over with). B is a pretty good little traveler. He does get a little whiny at times, but overall he does great.
We had a great time in Delaware. I'm glad we got to go. :)
