This past Saturday we spent the day up in Cache Valley. We got up in the morning and drove the 2 hours to my grandparents house just south of Logan. We spent about an hour at their house and then went with them on a drive through the beautiful Logan canyon to Bear Lake. It was so nice up there! The water is really high and it was the perfect temperature. We had a picnic lunch by the lake and then indulged in the famous and incredibly delicious raspberry milkshakes. They definitely lived up to their reputation. Then we drove back to Logan and made a stop to visit my great aunt.
We spent another hour at my grandparent's house and then Tommy and I headed out to Clarkston for the Martin Harris pageant (with of course a stop at the cheese factory to get some "squeaky" cheese!).
Clarkston is a charming little town with nothing in it except farmland, houses, a church building, and a small cemetary with this prominent member of church history buried there. We enjoyed a roast beef dinner at the church put on by the locals and then watched the pageant telling about the life and story of Martin Harris. The weather was perfect and it was fun to just sit outside looking across the beautiful valley with all its farmland while we waited for it to get dark.

We really enjoyed the pageant and learned a lot about Martin Harris. It took quite a while to get out of the parking lot with so many people there, but then we finally made our 2 hour drive home (which actually took longer due to construction). We arrived home at 1 am, exhausted. Seven-ish hours in the car was a little hard for my pregnant body and my feet and ankles were swollen up huge, but it was a really fun day. We enjoyed getting to see my grandparents and do so many fun things. And I have to agree with my mom - Cache Valley really is one of the prettiest places!
