A few weeks ago we went to the Manti Pageant with our ward and we took Jason and Jocelyn with us. For those who don't know, it's a play they put on after dark at the Manti temple grounds. It is about the history of the church, including some Book of Mormon stories.
We drove down early with our ward (the singles went to a fireside while we saved seats) and ate a delicious BBQ turkey dinner. We packed blankets, popcorn, and all the stuff for strawberry shortcakes (random, I know). We had a good time visiting and eating while waiting for it to get dark. It rained on us though and for a few minutes we had lightening dancing all around us. It made me happy since we don't get very many lightening storms here. We were glad we had umbrellas and blankets to hide under, but we still did get pretty wet.
The pageant was really good...though perhaps a little long and the acting was a bit too dramatic, but we really enjoyed it. The drive home seemed long as Tommy and I fought to stay awake. We got home close to 1 am, which is waaaaaay past our bedtime.
It was a really fun evening though and I'm so glad we got to go while we still live here.
