We took a quick trip to visit Kirtland, Ohio this week. Tommy had Good Friday off, so we decided to take advantage of it. He took half a day of vacation on Thursday and we left after lunch. Because he travels so much, he has earned quite a lot of points at different hotels. We stayed in a Sheraton Suite for free! And because he is a Delta Gold Member (thanks again to his travels) we got free breakfast in their restaurant. So we paid a $4 tip to the waiter and that was it! Love that!
We ordered a pizza and took the boys swimming at the pool. It was so much fun! True to what we expected, the water-loving baby loved it and the nervous kid put up a fight. Seriously Caleb was so happy to be in the water! Bradley warmed up to it and did really well. He actually asked to go swimming after breakfast the next day. We weren't planning to but because he asked we obliged and he was much more comfortable.
Our hotel room was awesome. It overlooked this huge river. I loved getting to sleep with the sound of rushing water. The layout was perfect for our family. Bradley had the pull out bed in the living room and Caleb was in the sink area of the bathroom in a crib. Everyone had their own room with closed doors. Love that! Suites are so nice with kids.
Friday after breakfast and Tommy and Bradley's quick swim we drove up to Kirtland. We started at the Visitors Center and had a great time touring all the old houses and buildings. We really enjoyed it.
Then we went to the temple site (not owned by our church) and ate lunch on the lawn while we waited for the next tour. It was also very neat.
By the end of that our boys were done and we decided to skip the Johnson Farm in Hirum. We drove home, stopping at Panera Bread for dinner.
It was such a fun, short trip! We had a great time. :)
