The Thomas Family Visits!

Our amazing friends, Jason and Jocelyn visited us this weekend from North Carolina! It was sooo much fun!

First off, I don't know how many times it is possible to say this - but I LOVE my BYU roommates! They are like sisters to me and I feel so so so lucky to have randomly roommed with them. Jocelyn was one of my roommates, and when we got married and our husbands also hit it off, our friendship deepened. We did a lot with them when we were all still at BYU and we consider them our closest "couple friends".

So, we were very excited they came to visit! We hadn't seen them for almost 3 years! Bradley was 7 months and Ellie was 3 months last time we saw them.

They arrived late Friday night and of course we talked a whole bunch then even though it was late. Saturday we went to Jump and Jacks in the morning. The kids had fun getting all their energy out and the dads had just as much fun racing on the slides. After lunch Tommy and Jason went to Jungle Jims while Jocelyn and I looked through our gazillion photo books and talked nonstop. In the afternoon we went to our ward's emergency preparedness fair. We only went for the last half but it was really well done and informative. That night we introduced them to Graeters. Of course, they were fans! How can you not be?? After kids were in bed we played games like old times!

Sunday we were all getting ready for church when we found out it was cancelled due to snow. If any Sunday was going to be cancelled, I'm glad it was this weekend so we could have more time to chat! The kids and dads played outside while Jocelyn showed me lots of stuff online about photo books (one of our mutual hobbies that we always talk about). The kids "painted" the snow using spray bottles...which is why the snow is yellow in some pictures.

Tommy and Jason stayed out way longer than the kids making a snow tunnel to sled through. It was hilarious to watch them trying to fit through this small hole, but once they finished it, it was pretty fun.

We basically just hung out all day Sunday and of course played more games at night.

Tommy took Monday off and we went to the zoo. There was snow on the ground and lots of animals not out, but it was still really fun and warmed up throughout the day.

After dinner Jocelyn and I ran to Graeters to pick up a carton because they needed more and that was easier than dragging all the kids there. We had family night and put the kids to bed. Then we talked and Jason, Jocelyn, and I did the Color Code personality test while Tommy had to take a long work call for Asia. We had taken the personality test together at BYU and it was interesting to take it again and see how we've changed (or not).

When Tommy was done we played Settlers. It was a hilarious game since it was late. After the game we all brushed our teeth together and talked about P&G products. Friends who brush together, stay together. I love that this is the only picture we took of all four of us. haha! We went to bed really late.

We (minus Tommy who had to work today) went to IHOP for free pancakes. Then they left to head back home around noon.

It was such a great weekend! The kids had fun together and played decently well. I'm so glad they got to come!! Thank you Jason and Jocelyn!
