The Y-ball

We house and dog sat for my sister Julie and her family for 12 days when they went on vacation to Texas and Mexico a few weeks ago. We just commuted back and forth everyday. It was actually really fun though! It was fun to be at a house and it seemed a little like a mini vacation. We were there for two Saturdays and since they live so close to 3 temples, we did sessions in two new ones. We went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple the first Saturday and it was sooooo pretty! We loved it!

The second Saturday we went to the Jordan River temple and sadly I forgot my camera.

Every year BYUSA puts on a free event for married or engaged couples called the Y-ball. We got 4 tickets and invited several of our friends to come. The ones who came with us were Lizzy and Spencer, Jocelyn and Jason, and Cami and Ethan (a couple in our ward who we've become friends with). We had a lot of fun! They had catered Kneaders (yum!!), a picture booth (we haven't gotten that picture yet), drawings for date packages, and dancing. It was so interesting to watch the dancing becuase everyone was in couples instead of groups like at most college dances and since everyone was with the person that they feel most comfortable with, the dancing was hilarious. People just let loose because it just didn't matter. It definitely beat the awkwardness of most dances when you're trying to impress someone.

Since we don't necessarily love dancing, after a while we decided to go play a game in Tommy's office. Spencer and Lizzy left and us other 6 went up. We played a super fun game on the ping pong table. We took off the net and each person had a portion of the table to guard. We knelt on the ground with our hands behind our backs and the goal was to blow the ball off someone else's side. If it fell off on your side you moved down to the lowest position (kinda like 4 square). It was so much fun and hilarious to watch people's faces when they were trying so hard to blow the ball away from their side. We had a great time! I love the Y-ball and hope we'll get to go again next year.
